About the Journal

The Journal of Innovation and Public Service Policy (JIPS) is dedicated to high-quality, impactful research on innovation and the enhancement of public services. It publishes articles that address to advance theories of public governance, decentralisation, and accountability, enhancing our understanding of better public practices through innovation.

In line with its mission, JIPS is interested in both conceptual and empirical research that examines the shed light on the determinants of the robustness and resilience of public sector entities. JIPS aspires to foster a vibrant debate among scholars, practitioners, policymakers, citizens, and other relevant stakeholders involved in generating public value. The journal seeks to build a thriving community where all actors in public value creation can gain valuable insights into enhancing public sector effectiveness and impact.

JIPS targets an international audience and publishes contributions from around the world. The journal is published biannually, with issues released in May and November. JIPS is committed to providing high-quality and timely reviews to authors. Review reports include relevant, critical, and constructive feedback designed to help authors improve their research quality. The journal adopts a double-blind peer review process, with submitted articles evaluated by at least two expert reviewers. JIPS is dedicated to keeping authors and reviewers informed of decisions made during the review process and clarifying the criteria used to make final recommendations on submitted papers.
