Jurnal Matematika Sains dan Teknologi (JMST)

Jurnal Matematika Sains dan Teknologi (JMST) applies a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism and is committed to maintaining academic integrity, originality, and ethical scholarly publishing. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, redundant publication, duplicate submission, data plagiarism, image manipulation, and any unethical use of previously published work are strictly prohibited.

All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection or similarity checking tools before being processed further. The similarity report is used by the editorial team to assess originality, citation practices, paraphrasing quality, and potential overlap with previously published sources.

JMST requires submitted manuscripts to have an overall similarity index of no more than 20%, excluding references, direct quotations, author affiliations, and commonly used methodological terms. Manuscripts with a similarity index above this threshold may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected before peer review.

However, editorial decisions are not based solely on the similarity percentage. The editorial team also evaluates the source, nature, and distribution of similarity. Manuscripts with a similarity index below 20% may still be rejected if the overlap indicates plagiarism, improper paraphrasing, text recycling, unattributed use of sources, or unethical reuse of previously published material.

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

• copying text, ideas, data, figures, tables, images, or other materials from another source without proper acknowledgment;
• paraphrasing substantial parts of another work without appropriate citation;
• using previously published material without permission or proper attribution;
• presenting another person’s work, ideas, data, or findings as one’s own;
• reusing substantial parts of the author’s own published work without proper citation or disclosure;
• submitting the same or substantially similar manuscript to more than one journal;
• using fabricated or inaccurate references to conceal unattributed sources.

Authors are fully responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism or inappropriate text reuse. Authors must ensure that all sources are accurately acknowledged and that any reused material complies with copyright and publication ethics standards.

If plagiarism or significant ethical concerns are identified before publication, the manuscript may be returned, rejected, or withdrawn from the editorial process. If plagiarism or significant overlap is identified after publication, JMST may take appropriate action, including publishing a correction, issuing an expression of concern, retracting the article, or notifying the relevant institution, depending on the severity of the case.

JMST reserves the right to take necessary actions to protect the integrity of the scholarly record and to maintain trust in the journal’s publication process.
