Abstract
The management of organic waste using the Takakura method aims to enhance teachers' and students' knowledge and awareness regarding the significance of effective waste management and the processing of organic waste into compost. In this context, SMP Negeri 177 Jakarta serves as the primary target for this initiative, with active involvement from both students and teachers. The implementation of this community service project relies not only on socialisation but also on direct practice, providing participants with tangible experiences. The outcomes indicate a significant increase in the knowledge of teachers and students concerning waste management, as evidenced by a reduction in the volume of waste disposed of. Furthermore, they are now expected to produce organic fertilizer, which benefits plants while reducing reliance on chemical fertilisers. The heightened awareness of the importance of a healthy environment is also a positive impact of this initiative. In conclusion, this activity successfully integrates all aspects of waste management into a cohesive, mutually supportive framework, encouraging active participation in environmental preservation.
