Persepsi Petani terhadap Varietas Unggul Baru Padi di Kabupaten Semarang - Jawa Tengah

Varietas unggul baru (VUB) merupakan inovasi teknologi yang berperan dalam peningkatan produksi padi. Pada tahun 2021, VUB Inpari 32, Inpari 36, Inpari 46, Inpari 45, Inpari NutriZinc, dan Digdaya diperkenalkan di Desa Mluweh Kecamatan Ungaran Timur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pertimbangan petani dalam memilih VUB, menganalisis persepsi petani terhadap aspek agronomi VUB, serta menentukan varietas padi yang dominan dipilih petani. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei terhadap 31 petani dengan alat bantu kuesioner, dan dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif serta kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 77,41% petani lebih menyukai Inpari 46 dan 74,19% menyukai Inpari 32. Kedua varietas tersebut disukai karena memiliki ketahanan terhadap organisme pengganggu tumbuhan (OPT) dan produksi yang tinggi. Untuk meningkatkan adopsi dan keberlanjutan usaha tani padi, diperlukan dukungan kebijakan dari pemerintah melalui pengembangan VUB yang sesuai dengan preferensi petani, penguatan distribusi benih VUB berkualitas secara berkelanjutan, penyuluhan intensif, serta pemberian insentif bagi petani. Peningkatan adopsi VUB diharapkan dapat meningkatkan produktivitas padi, mendorong peningkatan pendapatan, dan kesejahteraan petani, serta memperkuat ketahanan pangan daerah.
