Program Penguatan Pengelolaan Sitasi dan Referensi dengan Mendeley Desktop bagi Mahasiswa IAHN-TP Palangka Raya

Abstract

Writing scientific papers is urgent in the academic setting and must be done to develop knowledge. Moreover, writing scientific papers becomes a requirement for graduation and pursuing studies. In the preparation process, students must understand the ethics of academic writing, especially when writing citations and references based on the scientific literature they use. However, the management of citations and references is still mostly done manually, even though programs such as Mendeley Desktop are designed to help students manage their literature. Thus, this community service activity was carried out to increase students' understanding of the application of Mendeley Desktop in writing their scientific papers, especially in writing citations and references and managing scientific literature. The activity was divided into three stages, namely, the initial stage, which was an initial survey to determine the basic understanding of the activity participants. The core stage was the implementation of workshops for participants. Then, in the final stage, the final survey was distributed to determine participants' interpretation after the workshop activities. The survey was analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. Based on the analysis, this activity significantly strengthened students' understanding of citation and reference management using Mendeley Desktop and including it in scientific papers.
