PENINGKATAN EKONOMI KELUARGA MELALUI PENGOLAHAN ASAM TIMOR (TAMARINDUS INDICA) DI DESA BAUMATA UTARA, KECAMATAN TAEBENU, KABUPATEN KUPANG

The Timor island is famous with Timor Acid plants which is if it processed properly, it have good economic value. So far the people and the government is less on giving attention to timor acid so that it is only used as a food spice. This matter becomes reason for doing training in timor acid processing. Partners in this activity are Narwastu Women's Group in Desa Baumata Utara, Kec. Taebenu, kab. Kupang. The Problems that faced by partners (women's groups) is related with the abundance yields of timor acid and the people don’t know how to process after harvest in order to increase economic value. Write in 1 paragraph. The target and outputs that want to be achieved by the people especially women's groups which is able to process Timor Tamarind Fruit into Juices, tamarind paste and able to carry out preservation so that it can be save it for a long time. The method used are training and demonstration. All activities carried out of four visits on one the period from June to December 2018 . The activities namely training, mentoring, and monitoring and evaluation. The results of the PkM activities in Desa Baumata Utara, Kec. Taebenu, Kupang Regency is the Narwastu is Women's Group able to process acids into Tamarind Juice, Tamarind Turmeric Juice, Tamarind Pasta, and can carry out the acid storage process well so that it is durable. The result of PKM activity in Desa BAUMATA Utara, Kec. TAEBENU, Kab. Kupang is the women's group able to process Timor Tamarind Fruit into Juices, tamarind paste and able to carry out preservation so that it can be save it for a long time.
Pulau Timor terkenal dengan tanaman Asam Timor yang jika diolah dengan baik memiliki nilai ekonomi yang baik. Sejauh ini masyrakat dan pemerintah kurang memperhatikan asam timor sehingga hanya digunakan sebagai bumbu dapur. Hal ini yang menjadi landasan untuk melakukan pelatihan pengolahan asam timor. Mitra dalam kegiatan ini adalah Kelompok Wanita Narwastu Desa Baumata Utara, Kec. Taebenu, Kabupaten Kupang. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra (kelompok wanita) berkaitan dengan melimpahnya hasil panen asam timor dan masyrakat belum mengetahui cara pengolahan setelah panen agar dapat meningkatkan nilai ekonomi. Target dan luaran yang ingin yang dicapai adalah masyarakat khususnya kelompok wanita dapat mengolah Buah Asam Timor menjadi Jus, pasta asam dan bisa melakukan pengawetan sehingga bisa disimpan dalam waktu yang lama. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan dan demonstrasi. Seluruh kegiatan dilaksanakan sebanyak 4
kali kunjungan dalam kurun waktu bulan Juni sampai Desember 2018 yaitu pelatihan, pendampingan, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan PkM di Desa Baumata Utara, Kec. Taebenu, Kabupaten Kupang adalah Kelompok Wanita Narwastu bisa mengolah asam menjadi Jus Asam, Jus Kunyit Asam, Pasta Asam, dan bisa melakukan proses penyimpanan asam dengan baik sehingga tahan lama.
