PENDAMPINGAN PEMBIBITAN TANAMAN CABAI MENGGUNAKAN KOMPOS DI DESA HILIZIHONO, KABUPATEN NIAS SELATAN

This community service program in Hilizihono Village aims to assist the community in increasing chili cultivation productivity by implementing compost as a growing medium in chili nurseries. The mentoring program was intensive, with hands-on practice in available land. Observed parameters included farmers' knowledge of compost, their attitudes toward its use, and chili nursery practices after the outreach program. This mentoring significantly increased farmers' knowledge of the benefits of compost and shifted their attitudes toward its use to a more positive level. The use of compost as a growing medium has proven effective in improving soil quality, plant growth, and chili productivity. After the training, the majority of farmers adopted compost in their chili nursery practices. This indicates that this training is a crucial step in encouraging the adoption of new technologies, such as compost use, among farmers.
