PENINGKATAN EFISIENSI BUDI DAYA PADI MELALUI TEKNIK POTONG PADI PADA KELOMPOK TANI MEKAR HATI BOGOR

Abstract

The manual rice harvesting process remains a significant challenge for the Mekar Hati farmer group in Sukaresmi Village, Bogor Regency. This activity often requires a long time and significant labor, reducing production efficiency and increasing operational costs. One solution to overcome this manual harvesting problem is the procurement of a paddy mower, a modern tool designed to spees up harvesting and is suitable for narrow or undulating land. Community Service (PkM) activities are conducted through farmer group mentoring. These activities include technical guidance on group management and the use of rice cutting machine, including facilitating the provision of paddy mower. The availability of this tool must be accompanied by good equipment management, as this mower will be used by several farmer group members. Farmers need to understand how to use and maintain the machine, so that it can be used effectively and does not easily break down. Equitable use of rice cutting machines can improve farmers' skills in adopting technology on a personal level. This program aims to increase rice cultivation efficiency through modern technology, training, and mentoring. With support from the Open University, the Mekar Hati Sukaresmi farmer group can optimize production, reduce harvesting costs, and increase competitiveness.
