Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- The first author and/or corresponding author must sign the Ethical Statement for Manuscript Submission form (link: https://sl.ut.ac.id/ethics-jmst).
Author Guidelines
The Journal of Mathematics, Science and Technology (JMST) requires all submitted manuscripts to adhere strictly to our formatting guidelines. Authors are strongly encouraged to write their papers directly inside the customized JMST Article Template to ensure compliance.

Citation & Requirements
Manuscript Structure
Research articles must follow this exact sequence: TITLE, ABSTRACT, INTRODUCTION, METHOD, RESULTS AND DISCUSSION, CONCLUSIONS, REFERENCES. (Click each section below for detailed instructions)
Title & Author Information
- Article Title: Must be written in Arial Narrow Bold, size 14 pt. It should be concise and not exceed 15 words.
- Author Names: Write full names (not abbreviated) without academic titles. If there is more than one author, provide a sequence number (e.g., First author1), Second author2)).
- Affiliations: Include Study Program, Faculty, University, City, and State for each author sequence number.
- Contact: Provide the e-mail address of the corresponding author.
- Author information should be written in Arial Narrow font, 12 pt.
Abstract & Keywords
- Abstract: Must be written in English with a maximum of 250 words. Use Arial Narrow, size 11 pt, single spacing.
- The abstract should provide short, clear, and concise information related to the research topic, objectives, research methods, and research results. It is expected to be communicative and not monotonous.
- Keywords: Should represent the concept of the article and make it easy for search engines. Provide 3-5 keywords written in lowercase letters, size 11 pt.
Introduction
The introduction begins immediately after the keywords and must include:
- The background of the study.
- The formulated research problems.
- The objectives and benefits of the research.
The introduction must be accompanied by citations acting as the theoretical basis for the research problem. You must use reference management software (Mendeley, Zotero, Endnote, etc.) formatted in APA style.
Method
The method section contains explanations in paragraph form outlining:
- Descriptions of experimental settings.
- Data sources and data collection techniques.
- Data analysis procedures carried out by researchers.
Mathematical Equations: Writing formulas or mathematical equations must use the Cambria Math font, size 12 pt. Every mathematical formula must be assigned a sequence number aligned to the right, for example:
Note: If you are using subchapters within your article, format them clearly with distinct Sub Chapter Headings.
Results and Discussion
This section is presented in an integrated manner and must answer the problems formulated at the beginning of the article. It should be reviewed against various related previous theories.
- Contains data, data analysis, and interpretation of results presented in a detailed and ordered manner.
- Tables, Graphs, and Figures: Must be clearly annotated. After a table or graph is presented, provide a clear textual explanation of its purpose (e.g., "Based on Figure 1, it can be explained that...").
- If quoting tables or figures from other sources, the source must be clearly included below the visual element.
Conclusion
The conclusion must be presented in paragraph form. It should:
- Clearly state the main findings of the study.
- Provide explanations related to the importance and relevance of the findings.
- Directly answer the existing hypotheses and research objectives.
- Contain suggestions related to further ideas stemming from the research that has been done.
References
Articles must have a minimum of 15 references. These must be taken from National or International scientific journals with good credibility, published within the last 10 years.
All references must be formatted according to APA Style using a reference manager (Mendeley, Zotero, etc.).
