History of the Journal of Mathematics, Science, and Technology
The Journal of Science and Technology Mathematics (JMST) is a medium for information and communication of practitioners, researchers, and academics involved and interested in developing mathematics, science, and technology. JMST publishes articles on research and thought results in mathematics, science, and technology. This journal publication aims to improve the development, mastery, and application of mathematics, science, and technology in various fields.
JMST is published by the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM), Open University, twice yearly, namely in March and September. The first edition was published in March 2000 with ISSN: 1411-1934 (printed). The publication's online version starts from Volume 4 Edition 1 of 2003 with ISSN: 2442-9147 (online). The online version of JMST can be accessed at https://jurnal.ut.ac.id/index.php/jmst.
Furthermore, based on the Regulation of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Permenristekdikti) Number 9 of 2018 concerning accreditation of scientific journals, JMST submitted an accreditation process to ARJUNA, the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia. As a result, JMST has been designated as the fourth-ranked accredited scientific journal (SINTA 4) based on the Decree of the Director General for Strengthening Research and Development of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number 21/E/Kpt/2018 concerning Ranking of Accreditation of Scientific Journals Period I in 2018 since July 9, 2018. This accreditation is valid for 5 years. In 2020, JMST again applied for scientific journal accreditation and was able to maintain the SINTA 4 category accreditation rating based on the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Decree/Head of BRIN No. 200/M/KPT/2020 starting from Volume 21 Number 1 of 2020 to Volume 25 Number 2 of 2024.
Initially, the focus and scope of JMST covered the fields of Mathematics, Science, and Technology. This focus and scope are extensive, so it is not specific to a particular area of knowledge. However, based on the results of the 2020 accreditation assessment, one of the suggestions from the journal assessor is that it is necessary to consider the scope of a specific field of knowledge. Specific scientific aspects are the main criteria in the national scientific journal ARJUNA accreditation assessment. Therefore, starting April 15, 2022, the focus and scope of JMST will be on Mathematics and Statistics.
JMST has been indexed by national and international indexing agencies such as Google Scholar, SINTA, GARUDA Kemenristekdikti, One Search, JournalTOCs, PKP Index, BASE, Crossref DOI, ROAD, Microsoft Academic Search, Harvard Library, WorldCat.
