Process for Identification of and Dealing with Allegations of Research Misconduct

Jurnal Matematika Sains dan Teknologi (JMST) is committed to maintaining research integrity and ethical publishing standards. The journal takes all allegations of research misconduct seriously, including plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, undisclosed conflicts of interest, unethical research practices, citation manipulation, and peer review manipulation.

Potential misconduct may be identified through similarity screening, editorial assessment, reviewer comments, reader complaints, author notifications, institutional reports, or post-publication concerns. When an allegation is received, the editorial team conducts an initial assessment and may review the manuscript, supporting documents, similarity reports, published articles, and other relevant evidence.

Authors may be contacted and given an opportunity to respond to the allegation. In serious cases, the journal may contact the authors’ institution, ethics committee, funding body, or other relevant authority. All cases are handled confidentially, objectively, and fairly.

Depending on the nature and severity of the case, JMST may request clarification, require correction or revision, reject or withdraw the manuscript, publish a correction or expression of concern, retract a published article, notify relevant institutions, or take other actions necessary to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.

If misconduct is identified before publication, the manuscript may be rejected or withdrawn from consideration. If misconduct is identified after publication, JMST may issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction. All decisions are based on available evidence, editorial judgment, publication ethics, and the responsibility to maintain the reliability of the scholarly record.
