Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

JOINT: Journal of Inspirational English Language Teaching welcomes original research articles, review articles, and practical teaching reports related to English language education. Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts that align with the journal’s scope and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field, particularly in the context of distance learning and English language teaching.

1. Manuscript Types and Length

  • Research Articles: Original research that provides new insights into English language teaching and learning. Manuscripts should be between 5,000 to 8,000 words, excluding references and appendices.

  • Review Articles: Comprehensive reviews of the literature on a particular topic within the journal’s scope. Manuscripts should be between 4,000 to 7,000 words.

  • Practical Teaching Reports: Reports on innovative teaching practices or educational interventions. Manuscripts should be between 3,000 to 5,000 words.

2. Manuscript Preparation

Formatting:

  • File Format: Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • Font: Use Times New Roman, 12-point font for the main text.
  • Spacing: The entire manuscript should be double-spaced, including references and tables.
  • Margins: Set 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins on all sides.
  • Title Page: Include a separate title page with the manuscript title, author names, affiliations, and contact information for the corresponding author. Do not include any author identifiers in the main manuscript file to ensure a blind review process.

Structure:

  • Title: Should be concise and informative, reflecting the main findings or purpose of the study.
  • Abstract: Provide an abstract of 150-250 words summarizing the research aims, methodology, key findings, and conclusions.
  • Keywords: Include 4-6 keywords that accurately reflect the content of the manuscript.
  • Introduction: Outline the background, rationale, and objectives of the study.
  • Methodology: Describe the research design, participants, materials, and procedures in detail.
  • Results: Present the findings of the study clearly, supported by tables, figures, or other relevant data.
  • Discussion: Interpret the results, discussing their implications, limitations, and potential areas for future research.
  • Conclusion: Summarize the key findings and their significance for English language teaching.
  • References: Use APA (7th edition) citation style for all references. Ensure that all cited works are listed in the reference section and vice versa.
  • Appendices: Include any supplementary material, such as survey instruments or detailed data tables, in the appendices.

Tables and Figures:

  • Tables and figures should be embedded within the text and numbered consecutively.
  • Captions should be clear and concise, placed above tables and below figures.

3. Submission Process

Online Submission:

  • All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system. Please ensure that you have created an account and followed the submission instructions available on the journal’s website.

Blind Review Process:

  • JOINT follows a double-blind peer review process. Authors should ensure that all identifying information is removed from the main manuscript file. Reviewers will evaluate submissions based on originality, methodological rigor, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Ethical Considerations:

  • Authors must adhere to ethical standards in research and publishing. This includes obtaining necessary permissions for participant involvement, avoiding plagiarism, and ensuring accurate representation of data.
  • Authors are required to declare any potential conflicts of interest and provide funding information where applicable.

Post-Acceptance:

  • Once accepted, authors will be required to submit a final, proofread version of their manuscript. The editorial team will provide galley proofs for final approval before publication.
  • JOINT does not charge any fees for submission, processing, or publication of articles.
