Abstrak

This study observed two maize populations in two different locations comparing the presence of two different types of environmental influences on the observed maize plants. This study measured and compared the genetic variability and two populations of Golden corn varieties in Bogor Regency and South Tangerang City by measuring corn plant morphological parameters such as yield, number of harvested cobs, plant height, cob height, ripe/harvest age, cob length, diameter cobs, moisture content at harvest and dry weight of 100 seeds. To analyze the variability data, Anova was used to test the effect of the source of diversity from the location and harvest time observations were carried out in early April to late November 2016. Based on the observations, in general there were differences in corn morphology between the two locations. The morphology of maize in the South Tangerang city and Bogor district differs mainly in terms of the variables of cob height, cob diameter, weight of 100 seeds, weight of cob, and moisture content. The difference in results is thought to be due to the use of different fertilizers between the two locations where the corn plant in the South Tangerang city location uses organic fertilizer, namely goat manure, while the Bogor district uses inorganic fertilizers, namely urea, TSP, KCl (NPK). These results support Zystro's (2020) research, although not all of the variables measured show the same results.
