Vokal: Jurnal Ilmiah Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia is published twice a year, in May and November. The journal serves as a medium for disseminating scientific research in Indonesian language, literature, and Indonesian language and literature education.

Vokal is published in collaboration between the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Terbuka and the Institute for Research and Community Services (LPPM), Universitas Terbuka .

The journal also collaborates with Perkumpulan Pengelola Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia serta Pengajaran (PPJB-SIP) .
