Scope
The International Journal of English Language and Pedagogy (IJELP), published by Universitas Terbuka, is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that provides a platform for scholarly dialogue and innovation in English language education, English literature, applied linguistics, and English language assessment and evaluation.
IJELP welcomes original research articles, conceptual papers, and reviews that explore theory and practice in the teaching, learning, and use of English across diverse educational settings — including face-to-face, blended, open, and distance learning environments.
The journal covers a wide range of topics, such as:
1. Pedagogical innovations, curriculum design, and instructional materials in English language teaching.
2. Technology-enhanced learning, digital pedagogy, and AI integration in language education.
3. Second language acquisition, multilingualism, discourse and genre analysis, and sociolinguistic perspectives.
4. Literature and literary pedagogy, including the use of literary texts to foster intercultural understanding, creativity, and critical thinking.
5. Assessment theories and practices, language testing, feedback, and programme evaluation.
6. Teacher cognition, professional development, learner engagement, and identity in English learning contexts.
IJELP also encourages interdisciplinary and emerging studies on translanguaging, inclusive education, well-being, global citizenship, and sustainability through English language and pedagogy.
Through these diverse contributions, IJELP aims to advance knowledge and practice in English language education, bridging research, pedagogy, and policy to address the evolving challenges of global communication and learning.
