Peer Review Process
Pena Anda adheres to a Double-Blind Review process that is rapid, fair, and also ensures a high quality of articles published. Through the Double-Blind Review system, both reviewers and authors are anonymous. Author anonymity to prevent reviewer bias, for example, based on the author's country of origin or previous controversial work. Manuscripts written by prestigious or well-known authors are considered based on the content of their manuscripts, not their reputation. This statement is based on the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Code of Conduct and Best Practice Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers.
All manuscripts submitted to this journal will go through a peer-review process. If your manuscript is potentially suitable for Pena Anda, after passing the editor's initial screening, the editor will send it to the reviewers. All manuscripts will be reviewed by at least 2 (two) experts with the "Double-Blind Review" system (both reviewers and authors' identities remain anonymous). The review process may take 4-6 weeks. Articles accepted with minor or major revisions should be revised in accordance with the reviewers' comments and suggestions. The reviewers will then submit their reports on the manuscripts along with their recommendation of one of the following actions to the editor:
- Accept Submission;
- Revisions Required;
- Resubmit for Review;
- Resubmit Elsewhere;
- Decline Submission.
The decision to accept, amend, or reject publication will be made by the Editors based on the reviewers' comments and recommendations. In some instances, if needed, the editor may send the manuscript to another reviewer for review (Second Round) before making a decision. The Editor in Chief will make publication of accepted manuscripts, including the sequence of published manuscripts, by considering the sequence of accepted dates and geographical distribution of authors, as well as thematic issues. It usually takes about 2 to 3 months from submission to publication, with an average of 3 months.
