Author Guidelines
1. | The manuscript is written in Indonesian or English, including outcomes of field or literary and critical reviews reflecting Civic Education and social sciences related to civic education. |
2. | The manuscript is typed using Microsoft Word program on A4 size, minimum 2,000 words (excluding references) in Book Antiqua size 11 pts and 1 space. |
3. | The manuscript systematica consists of: |
TITLE | |
The title should not exceed 15 words; it should be clear, concise, and informative. Abbreviations should be avoided. | |
Name of the author | |
The name of the author is written without any academic degree, followed by the name of author’s institution, located under the title of the article. In case manuscript written by a team, the editor is only in contact with the main author or the first mentioned. The main author must include his/her correspondence address or email. | |
Abstract with keywords | |
Abstract is written briefly, covering research objectives, research methods, results and conclusions, and highlighting the state of the art. Abstract written 100-300 words, space 1, font Book Antiqua 11. | |
INTRODUCTION | |
The title of introduction is written with capital letters, Book Antiqua 11, and 1 space. The introduction must contain the problem background and problem objectives. The introduction must emphasize the state of the art with some underlying phenomena, theories, and previous studies. Citations must be written based on APA style (the last names of authors, year). The introduction must be less than three pages without any sub-chapters. The end of an introduction must contain the research objectives. | |
METHODS | |
Research methods must contain the promoted research types, either qualitative, quantitative, explanatory, literature study, descriptive, and historical research, or other types of research. This part must explain the research flow in detail, proven with the research subjects, the research objects, the research instrument, and the research analyses. The methods part must be less than one page. | |
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION | |
Subsection The results must be supported with adequate data. If the authors have sub-discussions, they must adjust the sub-discussions based on the needs and the appropriateness. Discussion must contain elaborations, comparisons, and uniqueness of the research. Authors can present the results with tables, graphs, or figures to explain the results verbally. |

CONCLUSION | |
The conclusion must contain brief and clear results. The conclusion must include the research implication dealing with newly presented concepts. The conclusion must be less than a paragraph. | |
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT (IF ANY) | |
The acknowledgment is addressed to the funding institution or individuals that facilitate the research and article writing. | |
REFERENCES | |
The bibliography must only contain the cited references or articles. The paper must at least contain 20 references from books and articles from reputable, national, and international journals with a ratio of 20% and 80%. The works should be published within the recent 10 years except for specific researchers. The bibliography must be arranged alphabetically based on the authors’ names. The bibliography must be arranged based on APA 7th Edition (American Psychological Association, 2020), preferably managed with Mendeley. Here is the guideline to arrange the bibliography. | |
4. | The manuscript is to be submitted directly to the Journal of Humanities and Civic Education by creating user account as an author. |
5. | The titles of tables, graphs, or captions must be written in the form of brief phrases instead of sentences. The titles must apply capital letters at the beginning of the letters. Tables and figures must have titles and have clear number and sources, and be typed in single space. The explanations of figures or graphs must be below the figures or graphs. On the other hand, the titles of tables must be above the tables. |
6. | Check each referred article for accuracy and make sure every quoted work in the article is written in References. Works that are not cited but mentioned in References will be omitted by the editor. |
