Content Licensing, Copyright, and Permissions
1. Licensing Policy
The International Journal of Theory and Application in Elementary and Secondary School Education (IJTAESE) is an open-access journal that publishes articles under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).
This license permits users to copy, distribute, reproduce, adapt, and share published articles for non-commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors and the journal, a link to the license is included, and any modifications are clearly indicated.
Commercial reuse requires separate permission from the copyright holder.
2. Copyright and Author Rights
Authors retain copyright ownership of their published articles and grant IJTAESE a non-exclusive right to publish and distribute their work as the original publisher.
Authors retain the right to:
-
Reuse their work in future publications, books, lectures, and academic activities.
-
Deposit published articles in institutional or subject repositories.
-
Share and distribute their articles through personal or academic platforms.
-
Enter into additional non-exclusive distribution agreements, provided that the original publication in IJTAESE is properly acknowledged.
3. Author Warranties and Permissions
By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that their work is original, does not infringe third-party rights, and has not been previously published as a journal article, except where permitted by the journal's policies.
Authors are responsible for obtaining necessary permissions for copyrighted materials, including figures, tables, photographs, illustrations, and other third-party content.
4. Co-Authorship Agreement
For manuscripts with multiple authors, the corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors have approved the manuscript, agreed to its submission, and accepted the journal's copyright and licensing terms.
5. User Rights and Responsibilities
Readers may access, download, share, and adapt published articles without payment for non-commercial purposes, subject to the CC BY-NC 4.0 license.
Users must appropriately acknowledge the original authors, article title, journal, and publication source. Any reuse must comply with the applicable license conditions.
6. Publication Agreement and Termination
Authors grant IJTAESE the non-exclusive right of first publication upon acceptance of their manuscripts.
Any request to terminate a separate publication agreement must be submitted in writing and assessed in accordance with applicable contractual terms and laws. Termination does not automatically revoke the CC BY-NC 4.0 license already validly granted to the public.
7. Royalties and Publication Rights
Authors do not receive royalties from IJTAESE for published articles. The journal provides free public access to published content in accordance with its open-access policy.
Authors retain the right to commercially exploit their own work or authorize commercial reuse, subject to any applicable third-party rights and contractual obligations.
8. Editorial and Publishing Rights
IJTAESE reserves the right to perform copyediting, proofreading, formatting, and layout adjustments to accepted manuscripts without altering their scientific meaning.
Published articles remain freely accessible to readers, and all copyright and licensing arrangements are governed by this policy and applicable publication agreements.
