Post-Publication Discussions and Corrections

Post-Publication Discussion and Corrections Policy

1. Introduction

The International Journal of Theory and Application in Elementary and Secondary School Education (IJTAESE) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record. The journal encourages constructive academic discussion and addresses post-publication concerns in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

2. Post-Publication Discussion

IJTAESE welcomes scholarly discussions, comments, and constructive criticism regarding published articles. Readers and authors may submit concerns or responses to the editorial team. All submissions will be evaluated for relevance, scientific merit, and ethical considerations. Authors of the original articles may be invited to respond.

3. Corrections and Post-Publication Amendments

IJTAESE applies the following mechanisms to maintain publication integrity:

  • Corrections (Errata and Corrigenda): Issued to address significant errors that do not invalidate the main findings. Errata concern journal-originated errors, while corrigenda address author-originated errors.

  • Retractions: Issued when published findings are unreliable due to serious errors, plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate publication, or unethical research practices.

  • Expressions of Concern: Published when substantial concerns about an article's integrity remain unresolved or are under investigation.

  • Addenda: Published to provide essential supplementary information or clarification without altering the original findings.

  • Article Updates: Substantial revisions may be considered with transparent version identification and documentation.

4. Editorial Procedures and Responsibilities

Authors, readers, and reviewers may report post-publication concerns to the editorial team. The Editor-in-Chief will evaluate the evidence, consult relevant parties, and determine appropriate actions in accordance with COPE guidelines.

All corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern will be clearly identified, publicly accessible, and linked to the original articles. Retracted articles will generally remain accessible with a clear retraction notice to preserve the scholarly record.

Article removal will be considered only under exceptional legal, ethical, or safety-related circumstances. Authors are expected to cooperate with investigations and provide necessary clarification or supporting documentation.
