Data Availability Policy

IJDMDE is committed to promoting transparency, reproducibility, and open science in all published research. In accordance with COPE guidelines and international best practices in scholarly publishing, IJDMDE requires all authors to include a Data Availability Statement in every submitted manuscript, regardless of whether the underlying research data are publicly available or not.

A Data Availability Statement is a declaration that describes where the data supporting the findings reported in the manuscript can be accessed, and under what conditions. This statement must be placed after the Conclusion section and before the References, under the heading "Data Availability Statement."

Categories of Data Availability

Authors must select and adapt one of the following statements to accurately reflect the availability of their research data:

  1. Data fully available: "The data that support the findings of this study are openly available in [name of repository] at [URL or DOI], reference number [reference number]."
  2. Data available upon request: "The data that support the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request."
  3. Data not available due to restrictions: "The data that support the findings of this study are not publicly available due to [reason, e.g., ethical restrictions, confidentiality agreements, or institutional policy]. Further inquiries can be directed to the corresponding author."
  4. No data applicable: "This manuscript does not involve any data, as it is a purely theoretical or conceptual study."

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all data cited, referenced, or deposited in connection with their manuscript are accurate, complete, and accessible for the duration of the article's availability. Authors are encouraged to deposit research data in recognized open-access repositories such as Zenodo, Figshare, OSF (Open Science Framework), or discipline-specific repositories, and to assign a persistent identifier (such as a DOI) to the deposited dataset wherever possible. Where data sharing is restricted by ethical, legal, or contractual obligations, authors must clearly explain the nature and basis of such restrictions in their Data Availability Statement.

Editorial Verification

The handling editor will verify the presence and adequacy of the Data Availability Statement during the desk review process. Manuscripts submitted without a Data Availability Statement will be returned to the corresponding author for revision prior to proceeding to peer review. The Editorial Board reserves the right to request access to research data at any stage of the review or post-publication process to verify the integrity and reproducibility of reported findings.
